A Place in Your Heart: Celebrating Memories with Custom Map Art
Some places leave a mark on us long after we’ve left them.
It might be the town where you grew up, the city where you fell in love, the spot your family visits every summer, or the place your grandparents called home. Whether it’s familiar streets or a once-in-a-lifetime destination, our memories are often tied to a map.
For years now, I’ve been drawn to that idea—that a simple place on the map can hold so much meaning. As someone who cherishes family, roots, and the stories behind everyday life, I wanted to find a way to turn that feeling into art.
That’s how my custom maps were born.
Each map illustration is designed to spotlight a place that matters—whether it’s a hometown, vacation spot, or the city where your family is now.
I have two styles of maps to choose from. Each are include a hand drawn grid of the roads of a town or city. One style has each block filled in to create a colorful piece of art, the other includes small hand drawn elements like your home, a park, or your favorite spot in town.
These map prints are a lovely way to honor your own story—or to celebrate the story of someone you love. They make thoughtful gifts for new homeowners, families moving away, military families, graduates heading out into the world, or just because you want to remember where it all began.
One of my favorite ways to see these used is as a collection—a growing wall of maps, each one a chapter in your family’s journey. Some families collect a new map each time they travel together or add one when a loved one moves to a new city. Others create a wall of maps that show the homes of grandparents, siblings, and cousins—visually connecting the people they love, even across the miles.
In a world where we are constantly moving around to new places, I believe in the beauty remembering where we’ve been—and holding onto the places that hold us.

💐 Features of the Custom Maps:
I hand draw these pieces digitally on my iPad. I use textured brushes that mimic traditional media—pencil, watercolor, and paint—giving the piece a naturally drawn look.
In each piece, I use an existing map of the city or town of your choosing to create a hand drawn grid of roads. In the colored maps, blocks are filled with color in a painterly style, with colors of your choosing from selected palettes. In the sketch maps, small doodled icons are added of your favorite places, up 8.
All orders include a digital file. You can choose to print your design on your own, or order prints with your purchase.
If you order prints from me, standard printing size is 8x10”. Feel free to inquire about other sizes.
Prints do NOT include framing.
Because each piece is custom-made, I’m unable to accept returns. I will, however, make corrections and adjustments throughout the process before the work is finalized. Thanks for understanding!
💐 Ordering Process:
Fill out the contact form with your details.
I will reach out within 2 business days, via email, with a response and any clarifying questions. This communication is to confirm expectations.
Once we agree on the project, I will send a Paypal Invoice.
Once the invoice is paid, you will be added to the queue. I work on a “first come, first served” basis. Each custom artwork takes 3-5 business days. You will be informed of your wait time and will be notified when I begin your piece.
When the artwork is complete, you will receive a proof image for you to approve before it is sent to print. I will make any slight adjustments needed.
Once you are happy with your piece, I will email you the digital copy and send your print. Printing takes 2-3 days and the shipping time will depend on your location.
